The Funeral is a 2019 painting and performance project based around the crossroad of religious ceremony and scientific study. The scientific illustration style of a dead sparrow paired with diagrams of flowers labeled with their scientific names, are displayed with pamphlets describing the decomposition process of both humans and birds. The bird is 18"x24" Oil on canvas and the flowers are 5"x5" watercolor on wooden panels.
